NM State Senator Nicole Tobiassen welcomed competitors, FRC volunteers, and families during the Opening Ceremonies of the New Mexico FIRST Robotics Off‑Season Competition in Albuquerque.

A steadfast supporter of STEM education and FIRST Robotics, Senator Tobiassen has attended events in both Houston and Albuquerque. Her visit to Houston included spending time with New Mexico teams—among them the SSES Phenoms, who were competing in the FIRST in Texas Championship. For the Phenoms, meeting her was a memorable experience; she took time to speak with students, learn about their work, and review the team’s history & project books.

Senator Tobiassen serves on the Science, Technology & Telecommunications Committee and the Senate Finance Committee in the New Mexico State Legislature, where she continues to advocate for STEM opportunities and robotics programs across the state.
